The North Grenville Ratepayers Association (NGRA) is a not-for-profit corporation, non-partisan, volunteer-driven organization whose purpose is to provide an avenue for North Grenville (NG) residents and ratepayers to actively participate in matters that shape municipal affairs. To that end, the NGRA’s corporate objectives are to educate, to promote, and to advocate for the following three things:1) the meaningful participation of NG residents and ratepayers in the municipality’s operation, decision-making, and planning.2) the cost-effective and efficient delivery of NG programs, services, and facilities.3) transparency and public accountability of municipal government.

The NGRA will:• Make it easier for residents and ratepayers to contribute to the public policy process with reliable and credible information based on facts, evidence and research.• Help NG residents and ratepayers to better understand what the municipal government can and can’t do as they seek to participate in the democratic process.• Promote cost-effectiveness by highlighting examples of local services carried out in a cost-effective and efficient manner, or ones that haven’t, and encourage residents to provide ideas on where efficiencies can be found.• Help residents and taxpayers with tools and guides on how to get the information they need, make delegations they want, and work with Municipal Councils to achieve the goal of transparency and public accountability.• Regularly reach out to local community associations, service clubs, business associations, and advocacy groups that wish to build partnerships and relationships with the NGRA to achieve common objectives
